In the early morning of September 27, 2024 Jesus came to the aid of Rosella (Sally) Baumhardt (Goebel) and softly and tenderly lifted her spirit from her hospital bed carrying her heavenward. We know her devoted Husband Ike was waiting for her with great expectation, anticipating their long-awaited embrace. Although her presence here will be greatly missed, we know she is home.
Sally was born on January 17, 1933 in Fond du Lac, to Robert and Amanda (Engel) Goebel. Sally spoke fondly of the family dairy farm and their school days together in the Eden area, with her 3 brothers and 1 sister. Sally found her one true love in her devoted Husband, John (Ike) J. Baumhardt. Together they enjoyed evening dances with their friends at the dance hall on Lake DeNeveu. They were married on October 17th at St. Mary’s Church in Eden and made their home at the Baumhardt family homestead farm in beautiful South Eden. Years later they moved to Eden and became very active in the community while they enjoyed raising their 6 children. Sally was a devoted Catholic and loving homemaker, where she poured herself and her talents into her family endlessly. She loved to bake, sew, draw, sing, and dance. She was never too tired to extend her hand in help to others or sing and rock her grandchildren to sleep. Grandma’s House was the favorite of all of her 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her sweet, deep love for them all was always an open door. She was the ongoing strength and support of the whole entire family and had the most vibrant contagious smile.
Sally's love and support will be missed by all of her grandchildren, 6 children; Bob (Barb) Baumhardt, Jeannie Baumhardt, Tom Baumhardt, John D. Baumhardt, Mary (Dave) Heil, and Barbie (Chris) Baumhardt-Lechner.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years John (Ike) J. Baumhardt, her parents and siblings and one beloved grandchild, David Baumhardt.
We would like to thank Mom’s in home caregiver’s, Erin, Bella, Cora, Debra, and Barb along with the staff and the support team at SSM Health Care.
