Roger Anthony Gremminger, M.D.
Born February 24, 1947 in Campbellsport son of Paul and Frances (Fox) Gremminger.
Roger was a retired physician living in Aurora, CO.
He is survived by his brother, Robert (Bonnie) Gremminger; sisters, S. Elaine
Gremminger, OSF, Ruth Gremminger, Carol Jones; brother-in-law, James Hohl;
sister-in-law, Eleanora Gremminger; nieces and nephews; Kasem Nithipatikom.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Frances Gremminger; brothers, Eugene "Bud",
David, Donald; sister Susan Hohl, and brother-in-law Earnest Jones.
Roger graduated with an M.D. from Medical College of Wisconsin in 1976. His medical
specialty was Emergency Medicine. He also had a strong interest in Public Health.
He worked in the emergency room at St Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee from 1978-1998
and at Beaver Dam Community Hospital from 1998-2006.
Roger’s passion was helping people and he loved taking care of patients. He encouraged
and supported young men and women to consider going into a health care profession.
His public health experience included serving as the Medical Director at Brady East STD Clinic in Milwaukee from 1979-1984 and 1998-2005. He was also the Medical Director at Holton Street
Clinic from 1983-2013. Roger was very involved in AIDS research and prevention from its beginning.
Roger loved running, gardening, tennis, trying ethnic food, his two dogs, and traveling.
He visited all 50 states in the United States and Washington DC, and more than a dozen
foreign countries. The most exciting and memorable place was Greenland which he
often talked about.
Roger and Kasem moved to Waimea, Hawaii in 2013 and Roger tutored middle school and
elementary school students in Mathematics and English. He also served as a mentor for the
middle school students. Each year Roger awarded a number of scholarships to students in
Hawaii high schools to use for funding, surveying, and applying to colleges. While he was
in Hawaii he served on the Board Director for Hawaii Island HIV/AIDS Foundation (HIHAF).
Roger was a loving son, brother, partner, physician, educator, and friend. He will be
remembered for his kindness and service to others and will be dearly missed by his
family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, January 12th from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport, WI 53010.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 12th at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Roger’s cremains will be buried on the Gremminger family lot in St. Matthews Cemetery in Campbellsport.
