Robert Leo Lindsley

May 24, 1933 — March 22, 2025

Robert “Bob” Lindsley, 91, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on March 22, 2025 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born on May 24, 1933 to Orvis and Josephine (Rieder) Lindsley. On September 29, 1956 he married Charlene “Dolly” Uelmen at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Dolly preceded him in death on August 17, 2013.

Dad graduated from St. Mary’s Grade School (Fond du Lac) on June 6, 1948 and Goodrich High School on June 6, 1952. Dad was a proud veteran of the Korean War where he was an air mechanic with the 815th Group Carrier Squad based out of Japan during the Korean War “The Flying Jennies.” He was a member of St. Matthew’s Church, a past Campbellsport Fire Fighter, Boy Scout Leader and supported the CAA. Working to support his family, he drove school bus for Bill Baumann, worked as a carpenter for Uelmen Builders, John Deere Horicon for 28 years and owned and operated Bob’s Cobbler Shop in Campbellsport. He repaired many baseball gloves, equipment and shoes during his years of business (at no charge). He instilled in all of us a good work ethic, “if you want something, you have to work for it.”

Together Bob and Dolly raised 7 children, Julie (Butch) Roth, Jeff (Jackie) Lindsley, Tim (Gail) Lindsley, Mike (Tammie) Lindsley, Marci Cochenet all of Campbellsport, Scott (Sue) of St. Cloud, Pat (Laura) of Missouri, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Marilyn (Ed) Hackbarth, in-laws Rosie Pierret, Rosanne Schill Uelmen, Patti (Mark) Bobzien, Tucker Wolf. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Norbert and Eleanor Uelmen, sister Kate (Dale) O’Malley, brother Jim (Audrey) Lindsley, in-laws Harry Uelmen, Jack (Julaine) Uelmen, Jerome Uelmen, Kathy Wolf and Bratz Pierret. Also a great grandson, Paxton Armbruster.

A Catholic mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Church, 406 E. Main Street, Campbellsport on Thursday, April 3rd at 1:00 p.m. A dinner will follow in the church basement.

In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to the Campbellsport Fire Department, St. Matthew Parish or SSM Health Hospice Fond du Lac, WI.
