Phyllis A. Gassner Nigh, 81, of Campbellsport passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born on January 28, 1940 in Brandon, the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (nee Pollock) Redman.
On April 12, 1958, Phyllis married Gordon A. Gassner at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. Gordon preceded her in death on September 24, 1998. On August 17, 2013, Phyllis married Robert Nigh at St. Martin’s Church in Ashford. Phyllis worked at Regalware, Kondex and St. Joseph Convent but her favorite job was operating Parkway Restaurant with Gordon from 1994 to 1998. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was active as a lector and communion minister. Phyllis was known for her great cooking skills especially her hot dish.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband Bob; children Sheryl (Neal) Casper, Greg (Kim) Gassner, Allen (Barb) Gassner, Teri (Herb) Galligan and Dean (Shelly) Gassner; step-children Robin Slottke and Sherri (Paul) Hippol; grandchildren Tim (Tammy) Casper, Tom (Steffany) Casper, Travis (Rebecca) Casper. Nick (Amanda) Gassner, Adam (Kayla) Gassner, Jeff (Melissa) Gassner, Erik (Stephany) Gassner, Dustin (Ashley) Gassner, Katie (Nate) Wolfgram, Cody Galligan, Kyle Galligan, Zachary Gassner, Tyler Gassner, Megan Gassner, Jessica (Mike) Marshall, Brett (Jamie) Anfinson and Brandon Anfinson; 9 step-grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, in-laws Judy Gassner and Mae Belle Luedtke, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Along with her first husband Gordon, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Tricia Casper, siblings Harold and Marie Braatz and Orville and Elaine Redman, and in-laws Roy and Alice Gassner and Leon Luedtke.
Visitation for Phyllis will be Wednesday, September 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport and on Thursday, September 9th starting at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at the Church. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira.
We want to extend our deep appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff on 5th floor at St. Agnes Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Matthew Church or the Campbellsport Food Pantry.
