Patricia Kay Elsinger

Patricia “Patsy” K. (Brookins) Elsinger, 71, entered her heavenly home to be with our Lord on April 7, 2024. Patsy was born on July 12th, 1952, to Bill and Delores Brookins of Eden.  After graduating from Campbellsport High School in 1970, she attended Marquette University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  During that time she worked beside her parents who owned and operated the Eden Meat Market.  She worked for many years for the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer, a probation and parole agent, and a social worker.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Patsy dedicated her time and talents to serving others. As evidenced by her career choice, her deep devotion to Christ and her unending dedication to her husband, she was never one to put herself first. As a faithful member of her church community, Patsy found strength and comfort in her faith. Her commitment to her church family was a testament to her generous and loving heart.

She adored her husband, Dave, and their profound love and companionship were evident to everyone around them. Theirs was a partnership built on mutual respect, laughter and steadfast support. United, they navigated life's ups and downs, commemorating 49 years together just the day before she was called home by the Lord. They discovered such joy in each other's company and created cherished memories that will live on forever.

On any given sunny day, you could find Patsy wearing a big sun hat, with her hands in the dirt, finding joy and solace cultivating her beautiful gardens. Her hobbies included reading, journaling, cooking, baking, and learning about Jesus.  She lived a vibrant, colorful life - anytime she left home she was beautifully adorned in color, patterned fabrics, hats and jewelry, outwardly matching her inner zest for life. Though Patsy may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends and community.

Patsy is survived by her husband Dave Elsinger; mother, Delores (Bill) Brookins; her sister Nancy (Nick) Wagner; her brothers-in-law Dale (Chris) Elsinger and Wayne (Marion) Elsinger, and many beloved nephews and nieces.  Her Dad, Bill Brookins, was waiting to welcome her into his arms in Heaven.

Patsy’s family invites friends and relatives to a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church in Fond du lac at 1:00 PM.  A private inurnment will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Baptist Church.
