Michael Edward King

Michael E. King, 74, of Fond du Lac passed away peacefully Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born in Fond du Lac on February 11, 1947, the ninth child of Joseph and Hildegarde (nee Kern) King. Mike graduated from St. Mary Springs High School with the class of 1965. He served in the U.S. Army for a short time and worked at Mercury Marine for a number of years. On September 29, 1973, Mike married the love of his life, Barbara Breuer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden.
Mike was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Holy Family Church. Mike will be remembered for his creative story telling ability, unique sense of humor, outgoing personality, and devotion to family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his former wife Barbara, children Mark (Deborah) King and Erin (Lee) Thennes, grandchildren Maria King and Samantha and Carter Thennes, Sisters Ruth Elizalde, Rose Johnson, Susan King, and Donna King, brothers David King, John (June) King and Charles King, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Patrick, Daniel, Richard, George, and sisters Jeannie and Mary.
Visitation will be Friday, August 27th starting at 9:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, N8079 Church Road, Malone, Wisconsin, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Eden.
The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Agnes Hospital 5th floor and ICU, the Fond du Lac County Healthcare Center, and the Department of Community Programs.
Although we mourn his death and will miss him every day, we are blessed by each and every moment we had with him and all of the lessons he taught us.
