Maurice Clarence Immel

October 30, 1931 — July 7, 2024

Maurice Clarence Immel, 92, of Fond du Lac passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 30, 1931, in the Town of Forest, son of Clarence and Florence Immel (Schmidt).

He attended school at St. Paul’s, Town of Forest. On August 6, 1955, he married the love of his life Arlene Walters at St. Michael’s in Dotyville. They were blessed with six wonderful children. Working on the family and neighboring farms, Maurice was always up for a challenge. He worked for Nelson Insulation, Wells Mfg, Mercury Marine, Soo Line RR, and retired from International Paper Co. He was known for always having a well-groomed yard. After retirement, he became quite the woodworker making furniture, games, and crafts just to name a few.

Maurice was instrumental in organizing the Dotyville Drifters Snowmobile Club. He was a past officer in the Dotyville Drifters SC and the Forest Athletic Club. He was also a member of the Eagles and Friends of the Fond du Lac Senior Center. He volunteered and was a helpful hand for many projects.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children, Alan (Ann) Immel, Beth (Terry) Butz, Craig “C.J.” Immel (Deb Albrecht), Dawn (Lyle) Nett, Ann (David II) Gurno, and Brenda (James) Aellig; 15 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Immel, Rebecca (Jacob) Wagner, Nicole Immel (Scott Knueppel), Sara (Sean) Rosenberg, Lisa (Bernd) Schneider, Benjamin (Samantha) Immel, Nathan (Allyson) Immel, April Nett (Ingrid Boucher), Matthew (Meghan) Nett, Maggie Nett (Dylan Bram), Joshua Immel, David Gurno III, Brianna Gurno, Erik (Kayla) Aellig, and Jennifer Aellig; 3 step-grandchildren, Sarah, Lexi, and Cassandra (Matthew); 17 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Keegan, Wyatt, Tanner, Madelynn, Knox, Roman, Esmé, Violet, Wren, Landen, Parker, Owen, Josephine, Leah, Taylor and Henry; and 9 step-great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Jayden, Olivia, Presley, Damon, Lainey, Kaitlyn, Lilly, and Maci. He is further survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann (George) Scott, and sister-in-law Judi Walters.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Arlene; parents, brothers Donald (Noreen) Immel, Daniel (Patricia) Immel and In-laws Roy and Catherine Walters; brothers and sister-in-law Donald (Ida) Walters, LeRoy Walters; nephews Dennis, James and Steven Immel.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11 am at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church (W1562 Co Rd B, Eden) with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 am until 11 am.

Private entombment will be at The Shrine of the Risen Christ Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery.
