Mary A. Konen, 90, of Eden went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 2, 2024 with her beloved family gathered around her at Edenbrook in Fond du Lac. She was born in the Town of Fond du Lac on June 3, 1933, the daughter of James and Ella (nee Fallon) Ford. On October 25, 1952, Mary married Robert Konen at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.
Mary and Robert farmed together and later Mary worked for HT Enterprises until retirement. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish. Mary enjoyed spending time and playing cards with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and watching the Brewers.
Mary is survived by her children Jim (Nancy) of Plaza, ND, John of Fond du Lac, Kathy (Gene) Kutz of Dundee, Jean Konen of Neosho, Tony (Kerry Sauer) of Eden, Lucy Konen of Rosendale, Steve (Barbara) of Fond du Lac, Pat (Lori) of St. Cloud, Fritz (Tracy) of Campbellsport, Barbara (Jim) Laudolff of St. Cloud, and Matthew (Deb) of Oshkosh, 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, the Joseph Baumhardt family, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert on March 21, 1985, siblings and in-laws Maurice and Verna, James and Margaret, Gordon and Charlotte, Donald, Genevieve and Gordon Fisher, Jerry and Rosemary Konen, and Viola and John Thomma.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave., Fond du Lac and on Thursday, February 8th from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, 1562 County Road B, Eden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 8th at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden.
The family extends a special thank you to SSM St. Agnes Hospital, St. Francis Home, Edenbrook, and SSM Health at Home Hospice.
