Lawrence Robert Farvour
March 26, 1958 - April 5, 2024
Lawrence “Larry” Robert Farvour, 66, passed away peacefully with his wife, son, and daughter at his side at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI on Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born March 26,1958, at the same hospital to LaVerne (Vern) and Mary Ellen Farvour (née Feudner), who preceded him in death.
Larry grew up in Fond du Lac, son of a Soo Line Engineer and loving mother living on 15th Street, Scott Street and Winnebago Drive. Larry was baptized at St Patrick Catholic Church. He graduated from L. P. Goodrich High School in 1977 and attended Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis.
Larry began his career at Mautz Paint and, after leaving, opened his own business, Farvour Painting and Decorating, where he painted interiors and exteriors throughout Fond du Lac and surrounding areas until his retirement in 2022.
On March 9, 1985, he married Cynthia (Cindy) Timm at St Matthew Lutheran Church in Appleton. Larry and Cindy joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and Larry became a confirmed member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on March 27, 1986. Larry is survived by his wife Cindy along with their children, Benjamin (Lynnette) Farvour, and Laura (Don Walsh) Farvour. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Gideon, Oliver, and Finnley Farvour.
Larry is also survived by his siblings, Katherine (Ronald) Abitz and Ted Farvour; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law Debra (Richard) Schmoll and Melanie (Ronald Jr. “Butch”) Diemel; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Larry’s faith was a strong and vital presence in his life. He loved to attend services, to serve the building through painting, to serve the people through leadership on church council, and he particularly loved fellowship where he could often be found in the center of a ring of friends laughing and having a chat.
Larry enjoyed his life to its fullest. He brought his brightness of spirit to all, including a vibrant and vast family of friends from his church and community.
During the growing season, Larry and Cindy loved to plant flowers and garden side by side at their home. Larry also loved to paint ceramic figures, most often Santa themed, and work with the model trains he inherited from his father.
Larry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the care team at SSM Cancer Center for their kind and loving care as Larry fought first melanoma and then leukemia.
