Kathleen “Kathy” Mary Salm, 81, of Fond du lac went to her heavenly home with her beloved
family gathered with her on Friday, November 17, 2023 at SSM St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du
Lac. She was born on May 30, 1942 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Reilly and Ardella (Salter)
Flaherty. Kathy attended Jackson School, St. Mary’s School in Eden and graduated from
Campbellsport High School. Kathy had master typing skills and was secretary for the Director of
Instruction in Fond du Lac.
On August 14, 1965, Kathy was united in marriage to Raymond A. Salm at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Eden. She was a stay at home Mom raising her children and provided childcare for
many years. She then started with Manpower and for 15 years was a receptionist at St. Agnes
Hospital. Kathy loved gathering with family and friends, especially to play dominoes. She
volunteered to take communion to the sick, was a member of a Christian Book Club and was a
great supporter of Pro Life.
Those left behind to cherish Kathy’s memory her husband of 58 years Ray, children Sheila (Tim)
Kostroski of Wausau, Brian (Sue) Salm of New Port Richey, FL, Kevin (Suzanne) Salm of
Loveland, OH, Erin Salm of Wauwatosa, and Bridget (Paul) Walter of West Bend, grandchildren
Eric (Taylor), Benjamin (Maddie), Megan, and Jack Kostroski, Stephanie and Luke Salm,
Nathan and Brendon Salm, Quinn Salm, and Abby, Joel, and Grant Walter, brothers Michael
(Patty) Flaherty and Timothy (Bobbi) Flaherty, sister Debbie (Rocky) Martiny, sisters-in-law
Barb (Perry) Wood, and Mary Bartels, brothers-in-law Allen Dickmann, Edgar (Carol) Salm, and
Louie (Sandy) Salm, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Terrance Flaherty, and sister Maureen
Dickmann.
All services will take place on Friday, November 24.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
Mass: 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
Luncheon: 12:00 Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac
Burial: Following the Luncheon in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden.
