Harriet Lucille Ryan Salzer

October 12, 1925 — December 3, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Harriet Lucille Ryan Salzer who departed from this world on December 3, 2023 in Mesa, Arizona. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Harriet was born on October 12, 1925 in Campbellsport, the daughter of the late John and Ruth Hall. She lived a life marked by love, resilience, and a genuine zest for life. Harriet touched the hearts of those around her with unwavering faith and the warmth of her ever-present smile.

Harriet loved taking care of her family and was always there for her loved ones, showing true dedication, care, and strength. She was a family Dairy Farm owner with her husband, Raymond Ryan-the father of her children, in Eden. Harriet was married to Ray Ryan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eden on June 7, 1944. After Ray’s passing on January 4, 1966, she moved to Fond du Lac and then to Mesa, Arizona. In Mesa she met Andrew Salzer through mutual friends and Polka dances, and they were wed April 17, 2004 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.

Family was the center of Harriet’s world, and she leaves behind a profound impact on her loved ones. As a devoted spouse, Mother, Grandma, and Great-Grandma (“Grandma GiGi”), she was the pillar of strength, offering support, guidance, and boundless love to all. Harriet was blessed with five children Joan (George) Wettstein, John Ryan, Carol Ryan, Nancy (Verl) Washburn, and Therese (Mike) King. Harriet loved her 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Harriet pursued her passions with enthusiasm. Whether it was Polka dancing, bird watching, or sewing, she approached life with a sense of adventure, hard work, and a willingness to explore new horizons. Love and care of her family was central.
