Gerald Thomas Scannell

Gerald “Jerry” T. Scannell, 65, of the Town of Osceola was born to eternal life on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at his home. He was born in Fond du Lac on February 11, 1957, the son of George and Marie (nee Goebel) Scannell. On September 28, 1985, Jerry married Mary Jo Birschbach at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary.  Jerry worked at Sargento Cheese in Plymouth until his recent retirement. Jerry wants you to know that he has had a good life.

Survivors include his wife Mary Jo, brothers Edward and Linda Scannell and Mike Scannell, sister Shirley and Rick Straub, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Chuck Narges, Jean Scannell, Louie and Ginny Birschbach, Tom and Elizabeth Birschbach, Linda and Steve Koenigs and Kathy and Dave Elwing, Jerry’s dog Taffy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents George and Marie, brother Pat Scannell, sister Mary Narges, sister-in-law Rose Scannell, nephews Jim Scannell and Ken Scannell and in-laws Clem and Stella Birschbach.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9 ^th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden, WI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 9 ^th at 1:00 pm at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at SSM Health Cancer Care Center and SSM Health at Home Hospice for their compassion and care of Jerry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Shepherd of the Hills Parish or the charity of your choice.
