Gerald Nicholas Thill

January 4, 1930 — August 28, 2024

Gerald N. Thill, 94, of Lomira passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Hope Health and Rehab in Lomira. He was born in the Town of Ashford on January 4, 1930, the son of the late Paul and Magdaline (nee Schrauth) Thill. On October 17, 1959, Jerry married Georgia Mangas at St. Martin’s Church in Ashford.

Jerry worked with his father on the family farm and then served in the U.S. Army from May 1951 until April 1953. Upon returning home he continued to run the family farm and worked at Precision Metals in Campbellsport. He was a member of the Bentzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347, the former Kettle Moraine VFW Post 8339, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerte 270, and the Lomira Lions Club. Jerry raised beautiful rose gardens, enjoyed feeding the birds, loved all animals especially his dogs, and loved Christmas when he put up his extensive Christmas Village.

Survivors include his daughters Madlyn (Timothy) Smith and Olga (Rick) Krostag, grandchildren Shawn (Connie) Gens, Ryan (Shoua) Gens, Patrick (Cassie) Gens, Stacy (Lee) Dreikosen, Kelly (Mike) Benike, and Courtney Zielieke, great grandchildren Ethan, Ava, Nico, Stella, Lilly, Bennett, Emily, Aliana, Kendall, and Bo, special friend, Judy Placzkowski, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Georgia on August 19, 2004, and brothers Ralph and Leon.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3rd from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Rienzi Cemetery Chapel, N6101 County Road K, Fond du Lac.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday September 3rd at Rienzi Cemetery Chapel with Chaplain Samuel Cocar officiating. Military Honors will follow the service and entombment will be in the Rienzi Cemetery Mausoleum.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Hope Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their special care shown Jerry.
