Frederick “Fred” C. Krist, 89, of Fond du Lac went home to his Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Adelaide’s Place. He was born on October 23, 1933 in Kenosha, the son of Frederick A. and Rose Hofman Krist. On July 2, 1955, Fred was united in marriage to Arlene M. Jensen at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Fred was a mechanical engineer and worked at Giddings and Lewis from 1956 until 1973 and then Mercury Marine from 1973 until retiring on 12-23-1997. Fred taught Hunter’s Safety in the 1970’s, was an active member of the Fond du Lac Rifle and Pistol Club and Izaak Walton Club League. He did target shooting, trap shooting and went to Camp Perry in OH for National Matches. He enjoyed duck, goose, and turkey hunting. Fred was an excellent wood worker of furniture and refinishing. He was active at Good Shepherd Lutheran church as a councilman and helping in maintenance.
Fred is survived by his wife of 68 years Arlene, children Brian (Kay) Krist of Sun Prairie, Diane Krist of Fond du Lac, Reid (Rachelle) Krist of Sheboygan Falls, and Julie (Paul) Beyer of Slinger, grandchildren Becky (Cameron) Heise of Charlotte, NC, Carrie Krist of Madison, Ryan (Sami) Krist of Menomonee Falls, Olivia (Steven Sizer) Beyer of Wales, Ross Krist of Waukesha, August (Sara) Beyer of Virginia Beach, and Rianna Krist of Sheboygan Falls, great grandchildren Stella Heise, Ashston Heise, and Owen Krist, sisters Shirley (Don) Littleton of Franklin, twins Marlene (Sid) Much of Slinger and Darlene Seegert of New Berlin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 19th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave. Fond du Lac from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev. Matthew Grunewald will officiate and entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
