Elsie Mccrory

Elsie I. McCrory (nee Elsinger), 100, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home. She was born on October 29, 1920 in LeRoy, the daughter of the late Wolfgang and Anna Elsinger (nee Zangl). She married James “Gene” McCrory on November 22, 1947 at the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. Elsie worked at Infant Socks, Rueping Leather, and Tolbita Cheese (Saputo). She was a member of the Teamsters Union and Holy Family Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, Vern (Marlene) Elsinger of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Cynthia Wojahn (special friend Dave) of Waupun, Steven (Lisa) Elsinger of Fond du Lac, Deborah Reddecliff of San Diego, CA and Timothy (Gail) Elsinger of Appleton; 9 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Marie Roberts and Florence McCrory; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Gene”, grandson, Thomas Elsinger, four brothers, Arthur, Norbert, Raymond, and Theodore; and two sisters, Josephine Riese and Erna Baierl.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth St. Way, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Entombment will be on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery. Masks are required.
