David Edward “Dee” Goebel, 75, of Dotyville passed away unexpectedly in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Fond du Lac on March 31, 1948, the son of Edward and Betty (nee McCrory) Goebel. On October 2, 1999, Dee was united in marriage to Carol Weber in Fond du Lac.
Dee was a graduate of St. Michael’s School in Dotyville and Campbellsport High School. He served in the Army Reserves for 6 years and drove Truck for Tom Ottery Transit for 52 years before retirement. He also was employed at Goebel Roofing and Siding, starting as a roofer and became a delivery driver after retirement. Dee was a member of Mount Calvary American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Eagles Club. He loved all sports but especially he loved watching his grandchildren play baseball.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Carol, children Pat (Tina) Goebel and Peggy (Mike) Rennicke, stepson George (Tricia) Bender, grandchildren Devon Goebel, Dillon Goebel, Carson Rennicke, Connor Rennicke, Brayden Bender, and Landon Bender, siblings Mary Ann (George) Winter, Janey (John T.) Baumhardt, Bob (Carol) Goebel, and Dennis (Mary) Goebel, sister-in-law Joanie Goebel, brothers-in-law Bill (Joan) Weber and Chuck (Amy) Weber, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Betty, brothers Dick, and infant James, mother and father-in-law Lois and Al Weber.
Visitation for Dee will be Friday, January 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden and on Saturday, January 27th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church. Casual attire is encouraged, Packers, Brewers, or your best flannel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and family burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dotyville at a later date.
Memorials are appreciated to the Forest Athletic Club or the charity of your choice.
