Carl Frederick Seefeld

March 6, 1936 — February 6, 2024

Carl F. Seefeld was taken to heaven by the Lord’s angels on February 6, 2024. Carl confessed his faith many times during his last months of life. Jesus and His work of salvation were always quick answers for questions addressed to him about his faith.

Carl was born on March 4, 1936. Carl was the oldest of five children born to Arthur A. and Hilda A. (nee Habeck) Seefeld. Carl was baptized at the Methodist church in Campbellsport and was later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport by Pastor Harvey Kahrs. He attended Glen Valley Grade School - a one room school. He also attended Campbellsport High School but didn’t graduate due to the farm work since his father passed away when he was seven years old. A number of years later, Carl and his brother, Edwin, inherited the farm from Uncle Al Seefeld.

Carl served in the active armed forces from November 4, 1958 to May 13, 1960. Carl was a proud veteran and was honored to serve his country in Korea. He was honorably discharged November 3, 1964.

Carl was very active in supporting various causes in which he was in constant communication. Right to Life, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, Republic National Party, and of course Publishing Clearing House were all on Carl’s mailing list. You could often find Carl attending basketball and football games at Winnebago Lutheran Academy and Campbellsport High School.

Carl was a dairy farmer until the milking herd was sold at auction in 1985. He then rented the farmland to local farmers until the farm was sold in 2022. In his retirement Carl delivered papers for the West Bend News, and drove the silage truck for Baumhardt’s. He loved going to auctions and buying equipment that offered Carl interesting tinkering projects. His favorite cow was named Alice. She would come up behind Carl and nuzzle him. Then Carl would respond by lovingly scratching her head.

Carl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Congregation his entire life. You could find Carl at Bible classes, assisting with ushering during the church services, and regularly attending church and partaking of the Lord’s Supper.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Hildagarde, his brother Edwin and sister Mary Stevens. Also nephews Dennis Brasch and David and Robert Stevens and nieces Vicky and Karen Stevens, brother-in-laws Ronald Marks and Harold Brasch.

Carl is survived by his sisters Lilian Brasch and Anna Marks. He is further survived by nieces and nephews Dianne (Chuck) Rentmeesteer, Julie(Steven) Buss, David (Lorie) Marks, Amy (Edward) Netzer, Steven (Annette) Brasch and John Stevens. Also great-nephews Alex (Margret) and Kyle Brasch and great nieces Brittany and Melanie Marks.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 10th from 9:30 AM until time of service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport.

A Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church with military honors to follow. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
