Bernard W. Calvey, 93, died Tues. Mar. 18, 2008 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 12, 1915 in Dundee, WI the son of the late Daniel and Rose Skelton Calvey. On Nov. 24, 1938 he married Ruth Abler at St. Claudia Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Bernard worked at the Fond du Lac County Highway Dept. for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Bernard enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved to tell stories. He was proud of his Irish heritage and he would sing and dance a jig especially for his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Ruth of 69 years, 2 sons: Joseph (Margaret) of Appleton and Dan (Linda) of Fond du Lac, 5 daughters: Karen (John) Nosch of Waconda, IL, Pat (Stance) Bergelin and Colleen (Greg) Kramer both of Fond du Lac, Mary (Charles) Mathers of Mequon, Katie (Joe) Mathes of Kiel, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 daughters-in-law: Janice Calvey of Amherst and Eileen Calvey of Westerville, OH, 2 sisters: Alice Roltgen of Glenbeulah and Mary Foy of Plymouth and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons: Thomas and Christopher and an infant daughter Colleen Funeral services will held on Tue. Mar. 25, 2008 at 5:00 PM at the Villa Loretto Chapel at N8114 Calvary Street Mt. Calvary with Rev. Elroy Pesch officiating with burial in the St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at Villa Loretto Chapel from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. The Twohig Funeral Home of Fond du Lac is assisting the family with the arrangements.
