Sheila V. Alm, 70, of Eden passed away Friday Mar. 28, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family gathered around her. She was born on April 27, 1937 in Hancock, MI the daughter of the late David and Evelyn “Mae” Luke Ploof. She graduated from the Phillips High School in 1957. On June 29, 1957, Sheila married Bertrand C. Alm in Milwaukee. She was a friend of Tabor United Methodist Church in Eden. Sheila enjoyed playing Euchre and cribbage. She especially loved to cook for her family and friends in fact she retired from cooking at the Eden Café. Survivors include one son Bertrand (Val) Alm Jr. of Torrance, CA, 3 daughters: Kathy (special friend Bill O’Brien) Gourdine, Judy (Allen) Straub and Tracy Alm all of Eden. 7 grandchildren: Nicole (Michael) Schaefer of Mt. Calvary, Philip (special friend Katie Spanbauer) Gourdine of Phoenix,AZ, Kyle, Amanda and Jamie Straub of Eden, Jordan and Ryan Alm of CA, one great grandchild Cole Schaefer. She is further survived by one brother Albert Ploof of Marquette, MI, 3 sisters: Vivian Frazer of Superior, Joyce Messner of Hancock MI, Barbara (Clayton) Kempen of Neenah, one sister-in-law Julie Ploof of Ogema, one brother-in-law Richard (Prudence) Alm of Phillips, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bertrand Sr. on Oct. 5, 1998, two brothers: Ray and George Ploof, one sister Mary Lou Olocki, 3 brother-in-laws: Ray Frazer, Robert Messner, and Chester Olocki and 2 sister-in-laws: Marie and Delores Ploof. Funeral Services will be held on Monday Mar. 31 at 11:00 AM at Tabor United Methodist Church in Eden. With Rev. Nancy Green will officiate and burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden. Visitation will be Sunday Mar. 30 from 3 to 6 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home 305 Fond du Lac Ave. in Fond du Lac and on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
