Viola Gellings, 91, of Lomira passed away Tuesday April 22, 2008 at Hope Health and Rehab Center in Lomira. She was born on July 29, 1916 in the Town of Auburn the daughter of the late Samuel and Lorena Majerus Gudex. On May 25, 1940 she married Edwin Gellings at St. Mary’s Church in Eden. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1974. They farmed together in the Town of Eden from 1946 to 1973. After moving to Lomira Viola cooked for the nuns at St. Mary’s, worked at the Senior Meal Site and was active in volunteering at Hope Nursing Home. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Mary Catholic Church in Lomira. Viola enjoyed embroidery and dancing especially polkas. Survivors include her children Louise Feucht of Mayville, Robert (Arlene) of Campbellsport, Walter (Patti) of Van Dyne, Jackie (Steve) Schrauth of Campbellsport, Sharon (Scott) Wondra of Lomira and Roger of Sacramento, CA, Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, her sisters Marie Sabish of Campbellsport and Johanna Runge of Fond du Lac, her brothers Sam (Beatrice) Gudex, John (Lou Ann) Gudex all of Campbellsport and Norman Gudex of West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a grandson Jeff Schrauth and a brother Loren Gudex. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Fri. April 25 at 7:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the church.
