Sister Dorothy Ann Schwertman, SSSF, 92, a resident of St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport died May 19, 2008 at the convent. She was born on May 25, 1915 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of the late August and Pearl Rahrig Schwertman. She joined the School Sisters of St. Francis Community on June 13, 1937; professing her vows on August 12, 1939. Sister Dorothy Ann served her community as a teacher at a number of community missions. Sister Dorothy Ann was the beloved sister of Norma Tunberg of Moline, IL, Eleanor Schaefer of Bettendorf, IA and Jack Schwertman of Bettendorf, IA. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed. May 21 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery Campbellsport. Visitation will be Wed. from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the convent. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the School Sisters of St. Francis.
