Florence Rose Schmidt, 79, formerly of Campbellsport died Wednesday May 21, 2008 at Manor Care in Fond du Lac. She was born on March 8, 1929 in St. Killian the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Lucy Weiland. On April 28, 1948 she married Alfred H. Schmidt at St. Killian Catholic Church in St. Killian. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2001. Florence and Alfred worked many years together operating Schmidt Plumbing and Heating in Campbellsport until retiring. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Together they raised ten children Michael (Susan) Schmidt of St. Lawrence, Lorraine (Norbert) Serwe of Campbellsport, LaVerne (Hoggie) Kreif of Campbellsport, Norbert (Suetta) Schmidt of South Carolina, Donald (Gwen) Schmidt of Campbellsport, Marian Kiekbush of Milwaukee, Joseph (Thea) Schmidt of Campbellsport, Joan (Raymond) Lackas of Campbellsport, Christine Schmidt of California and John Schmidt of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by twenty-five grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters Agnes (Fridolin) Heinecke of Allenton, Shirley Sperger of Fond du Lac, Robert (Shirley) Weiland of Milwaukee and Albert (Audrey) Weiland of West Bend, her In-laws Harvey (Rhea) Schmidt of West Bend, Betty Schmidt of Theresa, Clarence Schmidt of West Bend, Arlene Deuber of Indiana and Herbert (Dorothy) Schmidt of West Bend, Many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by an infant son Robert, a grandson Keith, a brother Gerald Weiland and In-laws Donald Sperger, John Schmidt, Margie Schmidt, Dorothy Heinecke and George Deuber. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 24 at 3:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
