George Edward Guell

March 16, 1913 — June 10, 2008

George E. Guell, 95, formerly of Happy Rd. Campbellsport passed away on Tuesday June 10, 2008 with his family gathered around him at Grancare Nursing Home, Fond du Lac. He was born in the Town of Osceola on March 16, 1913 the son of the late Fred and Edna Sass Guell. On Jan. 17, 1939 he married Loretta M. Burns at St. Mary’s Church in Eden. They farmed together in the Town of Eden. She preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 2002. George served on the Fond du Lac County Board from 1961 to 1970 and the Town of Eden Board from 1961 to 1981. He also worked at Barton Washer in Campbellsport, Shefond Oil in Waucousta and delivered papers for the Fond du Lac Reporter. George was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Parish, Eden. Survivors include his son Richard (Helen) of Campbellsport, his daughters Bonnie (Special friend Joe Poljanec) Draeger of Omaha, NE and Debbie (Bill) Abhold of Eden, his grandchildren Jim (Jen) Guell, Mike Guell, Julie (Shawn) Schodrow, Darcy (Bob) Hughes, Kindra (Dylan Hart) Draeger, Kim Abhold and Billie Jo (Joe) Lauby, his great grandchildren Matt, Eli, Emily, Claire, Colton, Samantha, Ella, Harry, Olivia and Ava, his brother Alton (Gwen) Guell of Eden, his sister Joyce Grahl of Plymouth, his sisters-in-law Mildred Guell and Phyllis Guell both of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers Harley, Merlin and Marvin and two sisters Gladys Vanderkin and Lylah Braun. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 14th at 10:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church W1562 Hwy B Eden. Rev. Joseph Juknialis and Rev. Brian Braun will officiate and entombment will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday June 13th at the Twohig Funeral Home 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport and on Saturday from 9:00 PM until time of mass at the church. The family extends a special thank you to Grancare for the wonderful and tremendous care of George during his five years at the home.
