Elmer Oscar Feuerhammer

October 29, 1913 — August 1, 2008

Elmer Oscar Feuerhammer, age 94, was called to his heavenly home on August 1, 2008 at Hospice Home of Hope, with his family at his side. He was born October 29, 1913, in Waupun, the son of Henry and Mary Treiber Feuerhammer. On July 6, 1935, he married his loving wife of 73 years, Mildred Windler, at the Reformed Church in Campbellsport. Elmer worked for Wisconsin Power and Light for eight years, then for four years he worked for Mashuda Construction, building airports for the United States Government in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. After that he farmed in the Town of Ashford for twelve years. After selling the farm, they bought a tavern in Elmore and they ran Elmer & Millie’s Tap for twenty years. He enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packer games and playing cards with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Mildred, son Donald and daughter Beverly (Gerald) Ramthun. Three grandchildren, David (Debbie) Ramthun, Thomas (Kathy) Ramthun, Barb (Steve) Klumpyan, six great grandchildren, Tracy (Scott) Mann, Michael (Stef) Ramthun, Travis Ramthun, Tami Ramthun, Mindy Klumpyan and Justin Klumpyan, two great great grandchildren Brady & Kylie. Also survived by his sister-in-laws Marilyn Feuerhammer and Betty (Henry) Straub, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vernon Feuerhammer and nephew Steve Feuerhammer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Aug. 5th at 7:00 PM at the Campbellsport United Church of Christ, 228 Forest St. Rev. Stevens Hilyard will officiate and family committal services will be Wed. at 11:00 AM in Elmore Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Hospice Home of Hope. A special thank you to the Campbellsport Rescue Squad, nurses at Hospice Home of Hope, Pastor Stevens and Twohig Funeral Home.
