Carelo L. Sook, 71, of Campbellsport passed away Friday August 15, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born Dec. 18, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Lucille I. Bauernfeind Clark. Carelo lived with her family from age 7 to 14 in Madrid, Spain, from age 14 to 17 in Zurich, Switzerland and from age 17 to 19 in Thailand. On Sept. 10, 1960 she married Melvin E. Sook in Sheboygan Falls. While living in Milwaukee, Carelo became politically active being involved with race relations. She enjoyed teaching Spanish and interpreting Spanish, French and German. Carelo was involved and enjoyed the Campbellsport Community Players, the UCC Choir and looked forward to singing annually in the Contata in Campbellsport. Survivors include her husband Melvin, her daughter Ellen-Marie Sook of Santa Barbara, CA, her son Scott (Katy) Sook of Ripon, her sister Claire (Richard) Peterson of Nashville, TN, other relatives and many loving friends. Memorial services will be held on Thursday August 21 at 2:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Stevens Hilyard will officiate and burial will follow in Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the funeral home.
