Diane Tober

Diane Margaret Tober, age 74, formerly of Florence, Wisconsin, passed away September 6, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was born January 26, 1934 in Cresco, Iowa, daughter of the late Milton and Margaret (Frey) Huberty. On August 1, 1959, she married Richard Madson at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1961. On July 23, 1966, she married Duane George Tober “Tobe” at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2006. Diane attended St. Mary’s Springs Academy and graduated in 1951. In 1955, she graduated from St. Mary’s of the Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana with a degree in music. Diane taught chorus in different Wisconsin schools from 1955 until 1976. In 1976, she along with her husband, Tobe, purchased the Keyes Lake Trading Post in Florence and operated the business until they retired in 2001. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Marilyn) Huberty of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; two brothers-in-law, Keith (Marilyn) Tober of Rhinelander and Thomas Madson of Florida; two sisters-in-law Karen Tober of Rhinelander and Mary Murphy of California; five nieces, one nephew, several great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday September 9, 2008 at 11:30 AM at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home Chapel with Fr. Elroy Pesch officiating with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mt. Calvary. Memorials are appreciated to the Villa Loretto Nursing Home or Masses.
