Mary Ann Smet, 85, resident of The Woodlands died Sunday Oct. 12, 2008 in the presence of her loving family. She was born June 16, 1923 in Fond du Lac to the late Bert and Lina Draves Reese. She married Perry J. Smet on October 29, 1941 in Milwaukee. Mary was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. She and her husband were owners of Perry’s Marine for 25 years. Mary was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer of many organizations. Survivors include her sons: Bill (Jan) of Watersmeet, MI, Tom (Joan) of Fond du Lac, Mike (Jan) of Lake Oswego, OR, Phil (Marie) of Venezuela, 10 grandchildren: Kelly (Joe) Simons, Joe (Shelly) Smet, Kate (Geoff) Sluyter, Todd (Jen) Smet, Dawn (Victor) Ladeira, Alison (Adam) Starling, Matt Stuemke, Travis Smet, Corrine (Rob) Tallman and Rachel (Tracy) Heron and 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 15, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church 1225 Fourth Street in Fond du Lac. Rev. Tony Farina will officiate and burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
