Dorothy R. Ramthun, 83, of N4295 Hwy 45 Eden passed away on Saturday Nov. 8, 2008 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born on August 3, 1925 in Fond du Lac the daughter of Frank and Catherine Gilsdorf Schmitz. On April 14, 1945 she married Norbert Ramthum. They farmed together in the Town of Osceola. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, embroidery and knitting and was a great baby sitter for her grandchildren Survivors include her son Roger (Rose) of Campbellsport, her daughters Beverly Rahn of Campbellsport and Dawn (Bill) Gearhart of Conrad, Iowa, her grandchildren Jodi, Bobbi, Pam, Travis, Jamie, Donald, Duane, Dale, and Craig, her great grandchildren Brady, Carter, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, Vince, Jacob, Zander, Jack and Korrinn, her sister Genevieve Bogue of Fond du Lac, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Connie Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Frances Schmitz of Bernville, PA, Don Arndt of Manchester and Orville and Lois Ramthun of Waupun. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norbert on April 15, 2004, her brothers Milton, Raymond and Jerome and her sisters Adeline, Marcella and Bernice. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Nov. 11, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Richard Scliewe will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
