Donald "Bucky" Walters

Donald “Bucky” Walters, 76, of Fond du Lac passed away Monday Dec. 15, 2008 at the Hospice Home of Hope with his family gathered around him. He was born in the town of Forest, on Jan. 20, 1932 the son of the late Roy and Catherine Wuest Walters. Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955 in the Korean and Phillipines Theater. He received the Korean Service medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Comm. and the Bronze SV Star. On Nov. 6, 1954 he married Ida Ann “Toots” Mueller at the Offutt Air Force Base Chapel in Omaha, NE. She preceded him in death on February 20, 1993. He married Michaelin B. Nowak on October 2, 1999 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dotyville, WI. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Parish and the American Legion of Mt. Calvary. He was a former member of the Dotyville Hunting and Fishing Club. He loved his family and his dog Fred. He enjoyed his Harley motorcycle, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling Survivors include his wife Michaelin, one son Thomas of Malone, four daughters: Terri (Rick) Luther of Redgranite, Judy (Jeff) Jaeger of Wautoma, Patti (Tim) Galligan of Milton and Cathy (Joseph) Pagel of St. Cloud, one step daughter Johneen (John) Zellner of Luxemburg, one sister Arlene (Maurice) Immel and one brother LeRoy (Judi) Walters both of Fond du Lac, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ida and two grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday Dec. 19 at 1:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church W1562 Hwy B Eden. Rev. Joseph Juknialis will officiate with military rites performed by the American Legion Post 75. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 11:00 to 1:00 PM.
