Dorothy V. Koenig Mrs. Koenig passed away on February 5, 2009 at the age of 88. She was born in Racine, WI on October 24, 1920, the daughter of Emma (Thoenes) and Edward Bezucha. She married Russell Koenig on Nov 18, 1944 and they resided in Sturtevant for over 30 years. She is survived by her beloved husband Russell, two daughters; Pat Valle Brechtbill of Springfield, OR and Diane (James) Christensen of Montrose, CO. ; six grandchildren and eight great grand children. Elena (David) Bloom, Elijah, Ethan, Noah-Racine; Victoria (Douglas) Hull, Samantha, Jacob-Campbellsport who were also her caregivers; Leela Nerad, Alyssa, Quinn-Racine; Daniel Valle-Hilo, HI; Benjamin (Deborah)-Brookfield; Jenny (Anton) Sandoval, Renee-New Berlin. Also, a special nephew, Paul (Rose) Harvey-Caledonia survives. Mrs. Koenig attended Horlick High School. She played trombone in bands and orchestras in the Racine area and played piano accordion in a dance band with her husband Russell. She was a piano accompanist for many vocalists. Belonged to the Schubert Club of Kenosha, played organ for Sturtevant Lutheran Church for over 20 years and taught piano for many years. She was also a homemaker. She had lived in Salus, AR for over 30 years and had returned to Wisconsin in April to live with her granddaughter, Victoria Hull, where Victoria and her family provided a home and care for Dorothy and Russell. Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport,WI. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home Graveside services will be in Racine on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at West Lawn Memorial Park 9000 Washington Ave. www.twohigfunerals.com
