Christopher Scott Grimes

September 21, 1963 — February 25, 2009

Christopher Scott Grimes, was welcomed into heaven with open arms on Ash Wednesday Feb. 25, 2009 by several family members. Chris came into the world on Sept. 21, 1963 in Fond du Lac, the son of Carl and Jacqueline Koenigs Grimes. Carl never had the opportunity to meet his son in person, as Carl was in Vietnam when Chris was born. Sadly, Father and son’s eyes never met, as Carl was killed in the line of duty when Chris was only 7 months old. Eventually Chris’ mother remarried, to a man named Roger Anderson. Roger also had been widowed and had 3 sons, so Chris enjoyed life with 3 older brothers, and eventually a little sister. Chris was constantly on the move, curious about everything, and feared nothing. He was able to channel all that energy into running, and like his father Carl, ran cross country at the state level. As Chris grew older he developed a love for carpentry and he worked in this field for much of his adult life. Chris eventually had to stop working when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about 4 years ago. He faced his very progressive and debilitating form of MS with utter dignity, never once complaining about how his body was denying him. Christopher is survived by his 13 year old son Parker, who was the pride and joy of his life, and Parker’s mom Laurie Grimes. He is further survived by his mother Jacqueline Anderson, 3 brothers: Dean Anderson of Eau Claire, David (Renee), Dale (Lois) Anderson and one sister Mindy (Shaun) Leitner all of Fond du Lac. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends including lifelong friends John and Jane Medin. Christopher was preceded in death by his father Carl Grimes and step father Roger Anderson and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Memorial services will be held Saturday Feb. 28, 2009 at 12:00 PM with the Deacon Larry Hughes officiating at the Twohig Funeral Home in Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Memorials to the Parker Grimes Education Trust Fund appreciated. Burial will take place at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery. www.twohigfunerals.com
