Hazel C. Wettstein, 94, a resident of Harbor House Fond du Lac passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2009 at Manor Care in Fond du Lac. She was born on Dec. 2, 1914 in St. Cloud the daughter of William and Antonia Dreifuerst Schaefer. On January 15, 1936 she married Raymond J. Wettstein at St. Claudius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. They farmed together in the Town of Osceola until retiring to Armstrong in 1976. Hazel was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church Eden, Our Lady of Angels Rosary Club and she prayed the rosary often. Survivors include her children William (Pat) of Eden, James (Lori) of Hebo, OR, George (Joan) of Eden, Joann Schrauth of Campbellsport and Marian (Eugene) Venturini of Campbellsport, 29 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her brother Joseph (Ann)Schaefer of Glenbeulah, her sister Hortense Sippel of Mt. Calvary, her brother-in-law Roman Wettstein of Eden, her sister-in-law Marie Hochrein of Plymouth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray on Aug. 17, 1982, her son-in-law Hilary Schrauth and her brother Leonard Schaefer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 14th at 11:30 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church W1562 Hwy B Eden. Rev. Joseph Juknialis will officiate and burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Armstrong. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
