Marie Elizabeth Rodgers On Monday March 30, 2009 the Lord came and wrapped His arms around Marie and took her to her Heavenly Home at the age of 100. She was a resident of Sterling House, Brookdale Senior Living in Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on May 13, 1908 the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Giebel Abler. In 1927 Marie married Lawrence Loehr. Lawrence died in 1944. In June of 1945 she married Arthur P. Netko. Arthur died in May of 1968. In the spring of 1972 she married Arthur Rodgers. Arthur died in January of 1981. After her first marriage Marie lived in Milwaukee and worked at Briggs and Straton for a number of years. She then moved to Dundee and owned and operated Larry’s Bar for ten plus years. After her second marriage she lived in Milwaukee again before coming to Eden and purchasing and operating Art’s Bar until retiring to Florida. She returned to Eden in 1987. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church in Eden and in Florida an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Marie enjoyed playing cards at the Eden Senior Citizens and she also enjoyed painting and knitting. Survivors include her daughter Patricia A. Schuh of Eden, her grandson David (Laurie) Schuh and their children Daniel Candee-Schuh, Matthew Schuh and Nicole Schuh all of Fort Collins, CO, her granddaughter Kathleen and her husband Dennis Krug and their children Amanda (Eric) Henry, Kathryn (fiancé Joshua McCormick) Krug, Megan Krug and James Krug all of Fond du Lac, her step daughters-in-law Eleanor Netko of Campbellsport and Mary Netko of Red Granite, her step granddaughter Grams (Bill) Gutknecht and their sons Bill and Dennis and their families all of Durham, NC, an additional twenty-five step grandchildren, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, three brothers and her son-in-law Ray Schuh. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday April 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 Hwy B Eden with Rev. Joseph Juknialis officiating and burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated.
