Richard W."Dick" Sweet, 81, of Dotyville died Saturday May 2, 2009 at home. He was born January 10, 1928 in Wauwatosa, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Velie Sweet. Richard served his country in the Navy from 1946 until 1954. Early in his life he worked for the Railroad and then he was a diesel mechanic for Timblin Trucking, retiring in 1990. In his younger days he bowled in a number of leagues at West Side Lanes-Tuesday night Businessmen’s and Thursday mixed league. He loved being out in the country and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Survivors include his two sons: Daniel (Teresa) of Fond du Lac and Corey(Von Smith) of Milwaukee, one daughter Kim Hutterer of Soudan, MN and their mother La Rita Lemke of Fond du Lac, 3 grandchildren: Jessica Gorske, Kyle Sweet and Kayla Sweet, 4 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren: Sophie and Parker Gorske, one brother David Sweet of CA and one sister Judy Lepinski of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Leta Ann, one brother Donald, one daughter-in-law Rose Sweet and one son-in-law Elden Hutterer. Memorial services will be held Saturday May 16, 2009 at 11:30 AM with the Rev. Will Kennedy at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Avenue in Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated. Burial will take place at Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel in Union Grove on Tues. May 19th at 11:00 AM with military honors.
