Clara H. Kahrs, 96, of North Fond du Lac went to her heavenly home on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at Touchstone Living Center. She was born in Algoma, WI on August 17, 1912 the daughter of August and Hermine Detjen Gruendemann. On October 5, 1931 she married the Rev. Harvey Kahrs at Grace Lutheran Church in Powers, MI by the Rev. Theo Hoffmann. Harvey preceded her in death in Dec. 1979. Clara took an active role in her husband’s ministry for 49 years until their retirement and relocation to Menasha. Clara’s family always came first in her life. Clara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Van Dyne. Survivors include her 3 daughters: Bethel (Myron) Matthies of West Bend, Anna (Charles) Kluge of Hancock and Eunice(Rev. Lester) Fritz of Van Dyne, 3 sons: Paul (Donna) Kahrs of Colorado Springs, Ethan (Lois) Kahrs of Dunedin, FL and Mark (Susan) Kahrs of West Palm Beach, FL, 21 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, her 2 sisters: Esther (Roland) Bode of Saginaw, MI and Bertha Wachholz of Fond du Lacand 2 sisters-in-law: Ruth Gruendemann of Oshkosh and Claudia Born of West Bend and many other relatives and friends. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law William Ristow, brother Roland Gruendemann, 1 sister Arvilla Wiese. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 8 at 3:00 PM at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church W6860 Main Street in Van Dyne with Rev. Lester G. Fritz officiating. Burial will take place on Tue. June 9th at 1PM at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Wabeno. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church.
