William R. “Bill” Altman , 70, of Fond du Lac passed away peacefully on Sat. June 6, 2009 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac. He was born Nov. 7, 1938 in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Gerard and Minnie Goldapske Altman. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964. Survivors include his sisters: Barbara Will of North Fond du Lac, Delores Tank and Debra (Aaron) Schneider both of Fond du Lac, his sister-in-law Karen Altman of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Tom on Dec. 15, 1968, Francis (Fritz) on July 21, 2006 and Gerard “Butch” on Jan. 31, 2007, a sister-in-law Shirley Altman and two brothers-in-law Leonard Tank and Gilbert Will. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 12:00 PM at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. Entombment will follow.
