Gerald F. Cain, 87, of Fond du Lac, WI entered into eternal life Friday Sept. 4, 2009 at Grancare Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on July 22, 1922 in Glenbeulah, WI, the son of George and Alice Neugent Cain. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1945. He married Lucille Koehler on May 16, 1953 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Jerry was an accountant for the state of Wisconsin Kettle Moraine Correctional Institute. He retired in 1987. Jerry liked to go hunting and fishing and he loved card games especially bridge and spades. He was a member of Holy Family Parish of Fond du Lac and a former member of Our Lady of Angels Holy Name Society and St. Vincent de Paul. . Survivors include his wife Lucille, four sons: Patrick (Caroline) of Hoisington, KS, Dennis (Bonnie) of West Bend, Tim of Lily, and Kevin (Terri) of Fond du Lac and three daughters: Kathleen (Mark) Howe of Wausau, Margaret (Richard) Proost of Cottage Grove and Mary Cain of DeForest, 10 grandchildren, one sister-in-law Betty Cain of Hartford nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Thomas and Robert, one sister Julia Cain, and one grandson Colin Cain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday Sept. 10 at 12:00 PM at Holy Family Parish St. Mary’s Church on the corner of Merrill and Marquette St. in Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the church from 10AM until 12PM. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Greenbush at 3PM. Memorials appreciated to the St. Vincent de Paul.
