Margaret P. Gitter, 106, formerly of Campbellsport passed away Sunday Oct. 4, 2009 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home. She was born on June 13, 1903 in Mayville . She was the daughter of the late Gerhard and Margaret (nee Jansen) Stommel. On May 22, 1923 she married Frank W. Gitter at St. Mary’s in Woodland. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1974. She was member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport, a former member of the Christian Mothers. She sewed and quilted for the missions, helped with the grandchildren and loved them all, she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her two sons: Wilbert (Florence) and Donald both of Fond du Lac, one daughter Margaret Beck of Fond du Lac, 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister Agnes Miller of Hartford, one sister-in-law Alice Stommel of Lomira, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant daughter Elizabeth, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 great grandsons: Dennis Beck Jr. and Christopher Gitter, 1 daughter-in-law Catherine Gitter and 1 son-in-law Jerome Beck. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be at St. Matthews Cemetery in Campbellsport.
