Irene Timler Demopoulos Grube, 90, of Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, died Jan. 24, 2010 at Hospice Home of Hope. Previously to entering the Lutheran Home she resided at Sunrise Court-Fond du Lac with her niece Shirley Campagna-Patin. She was born on May 20, 1919 in Green Valley, WI, the daughter of the late Frank and Cara Bailey Timler. Coming from a traveling family she attended many schools but finished her schooling in Campbellsport. She married the love of her life James Demopoulos on December 30, 1950 in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1979. On May 22, 1981 she married Charles Grube of St. Annas and lived there until they moved to Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1990. Irene was employed at Stella Cheese in Campbellsport for 5 years and then at Volrath in Sheboygan for 26 years. She was a member of Christian Mothers at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan and the Prayer Circle at Sacred Heart Church in Fond du Lac. She was like a mother to the many nieces and nephews in her family and she thoroughly enjoyed getting together with her sisters and brothers for many good laughs and fun times playing sheepshead which she finally learned at age 65. She was always there for everyone and helping her family, when her younger sister died she helped raise the family. She was good to everyone she was a kind and generous hearted woman. She enjoyed traveling, one of her most memorable trips was to Poland the birthplace of her roots with siblings and family. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Lutheran Home for all the wonderful care she received while she resided there, also the staff at the hospital and Hospice Home of Hope for their special care. Survivors include her stepdaughter Tina Jaeckel, two stepsons: Brian (Patt) Grube and Terry (Vivian) Grube, one step son-in-law Gary (Bev) Lynch, 14 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren, 7 sisters-in-law: Bernice, Mary Ann and Nancy Timler, Stacia Athanosiou, Betty Demopoulos, Vivian and Betty Grube, Two brother-in-laws George Skwierawski and Tom (Nancy) Doumouros and many nieces and nephews who turned out to be good caretakers for her is her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 2 husbands, stepdaughter Beverly (Gary) Lynch, stepson Michael Grube, three brothers: Pete, Jim and Marvin Timler, five sisters: Victoria (Bernard) Lewandowski, Sophie (James) Murtha, Francis Skwierawski, Mary (Emil) Polzean and Phyllis (Leo) Schieble. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thurs. Jan. 28, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Holy Family Building Fund or the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.
