Arthur W. Mielke Jr., originally of Campbellsport, was born into eternal life on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his place of residence at Belgium Gardens. He was born on Saturday, June 24, 1944 to the late Arthur and Darlene Mielke (Nee Bohlman). Art attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy of Fond du Lac and graduated from Campbellsport High in 1962. After high school, he was an active member of the US Air Force as Military Police for four years. Art had a passion for the culinary arts and worked as a chef for many years, including employment for a number of years in Anchorage, Alaska. Upon return to the Fond du Lac area, he continued working as a chef and also co-operated a restaurant and bar. Later on in life, he changed careers and pursued his other passion of caring for disabled individuals where he continued to do so until retirement. Art was a warm-hearted loving individual who cared about those around him and was always grateful. He always was smiling and had a sense of humor that would make anyone laugh. He will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Darlene, brother Donald and nephew Jeff. He is survived by brother Cliff of Milwaukee, sister Bev of Sheboygan, nieces Tammy, Lisa, Cassie (Rob), and Tracey; nephews Richard and Ricardo as well as 11 great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Heritage House in Port Washington and Belgium Gardens Assisted Living in Belgium for their wonderful care and hospitality. A memorial service will be held on Wed. Feb. 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac. Rev, Bill Gruenstern will officiate and inurnment will follow at the Veterans Garden of Valor in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
