Donald W. Sklener, 82, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully Thursday Feb. 18, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born on Dec. 2, 1927 in Milwaukee the son of William Sklener and Gertrude Sklener Bauer. On Feb. 3, 1951 he married Dolores Schill at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. He ran Schill’s Electric and Sports Shop and was a salesman at Schill Motors before retiring. Don also was involved in the operation of Bauer’s Hotel and Restaurant. Don served in the Wisconsin National Guard for a number of years. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Don was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Don also enjoyed traveling and spending time in the outdoors walking and observing God’s wonders. In recent years as his mobility decreased Don enjoyed traveling the Wisconsin roadways and the time spent with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Dolores, his daughters Debra (Howard) Floeter of Fond du Lac and Dawn (James) Feeney of Thousand Oaks, CA, his grandchildren Genasis Floeter and Zara and Orion Feeney, his great grandson Russell, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gordon and Georgene Schill, Gerald and Mary Schill and Marjorie and Donald Miller, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joanne Herman and her husband Gottlieb and his in-laws Corney and Rose Schill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Feb. 27, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew’s Parish. Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family.
