Richard H. Hornburg, 90, a resident of Woodlands Senior Living was called home to the loving arms of his Saviour on Friday Feb. 19, 2010 at Grancare in Fond du Lac. He was born in the Town of Osceola on Aug. 2, 1919 the son of the late Richard and Adelia Jandre Hornburg. On June 13, 1942 he married Laverne Guell. Laverne preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1988. On April 1, 1989 he married Regina Fryda at Sacred Heart Church in Fond du Lac. Regina preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 2003. Dick farmed in the Town of Osceola all his life. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee; serving on the church council and as president. In retirement Dick spent his winters in Arizona and enjoyed traveling in the United States and Europe. He also enjoyed dancing, gardening, golfing and playing cards at the Campbellsport Senior Center. Survivors include his son Richard (Mary) Hornburg, III of Eden, his daughters Judy (James) Theisen of Campbellsport, Joanne (Rolland) Hoff of Fond du Lac, and Jane (Steven) Beck of Eden, his step children Bruce (Joyce) Fryda, Barb (Rick) Moulton, Brian (Annie) Fryda all of Fond du Lac, and Gary (Mary) Fryda of Delafield, his grandchildren Douglas (Regina) Theisen, Rhonda (Tim) Engel, Russell (Lynn) Theisen, Karla (Mike) Erdmann, Angela (Craig) Charron, Andrea (Keith) Weigand, Jeffrey (Heather) Hoff, Michael Hornburg, Betty Jo (Brian) Sroda, Daniel (Tasha) Hornburg, April (Kevin) Beck-Priebe, Jill (Aaron) Goldstein, Curt (Laurie) Beck, and Clint (Christy) Beck, ten step grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Marlene Schellpfeffer, Margaret Guell, and Rose Guell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his wife, Dick was preceded in death by a great grandchild Haley, his sisters Leona Roehl, and Marcella Buehner, his step sons Richard and Dan Fryda, and his brothers-in-law Allen Guell, Gordon Guell, Ervin Roehl, Wallace Pieper, Willard Schellpfeffer and Kenneth Buehner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Feb. 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee (W494 Elm St. Campbellsport). Rev. Richard Schliewe will officiate and burial will be Friday at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
