La Nora G. “Nana” Arndt went to be with Jesus in Heaven on Tuesday March 2, 2010 surrounded by her beloved family at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. She was born on March 4, 1933 in West Allis the daughter of Giles and Lorraine Meinzer Hadley. On Jan. 22, 1949 La Nora married Richard W. Arndt at Salem Church in Fond du Lac. All her grandchildren and numerous friends knew her as Nana. She was a member of Covenant Church in Fond du Lac and enjoyed bingo, listening to music, dancing, and was a great cook. Most of all Nana was a great mother not only raising her children but many grandchildren and many others. Survivors include her husband Richard, her children Linda (Jon) Paulson of Eden, Richard B. Arndt, Shirley Wendt, Mary Arndt, John (Bruce Genz) Arndt, Tim Arndt, Susanne (Randall) Freund all of Fond du Lac and Cheryl (Robert) Hurt of Texas, her grandchildren Cheryl Hurt of Texas, Richard S. Arndt of Middleton Jennifer Solomon of Boston, MA, Ben Arndt of Bonduel, Sheila Arndt, Amy Wendt, Emily Arndt, Dennis Arndt, Adam Arndt, Bradley Ryan, Tristan Arndt, Tatiana Arndt, Eric Freund, and Sarah Freund all of Fond du Lac, her great grandchildren Joshua Smith of North Dakota, Travis Smith of South Carolina, Lily Arndt of Middleton, Henry and Patrick Solomon of Boston MA and Joel Arndt of Lomira, her great great granddaughter Madison Smith of North Dakota, her brothers Bud Hadley of Neceedah and Tom (Sharon) Hadley of Campbellsport, her sister Beverly Westhuis of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jim Hadley, a sister Cathy Abfall and her in-laws Raymond and Elvera Arndt. Visitation will be Thursday March 4th from 4 to 8 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac and on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 5th at 11:00 AM in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum Chapel at Ledgeview Memorial Park, N6250 County Rd. K, Fond du Lac. Sister Kathy will officiate and entombment will follow at Ledgeview.
