Sister Rita Rose Baumert, SSSF, “Sister Jasper” 94 passed away Saturday March 6, 2010 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born on Feb. 2, 1916 in Howells, NE the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Steffenmeier Baumert. She joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1932 and professed her vows on Aug. 13, 1935. Sister served her community as a teacher at various community missions. Sister Rita Rose is survived by two sisters-in-law nieces, nephews, other relatives and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 78 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thur. March 11, 2010 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery Campbellsport.
