John Francis Pesch, Sr, a dentist in Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and long-time member of the local Lions Club, has died at the age of 87. Dr. Pesch died Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Jack was born in Fond du Lac on June 16, 1922 the son of the late John and Eva Brown Pesch. A graduate of Marquette University’s Dental School in 1945, he returned to his hometown to practice dentistry for more than 40 years. He was President of the Fond du Lac County Dental Society, a board member of Bank One in Campbellsport for 28 years and served as a trustee on the Campbellsport Village Board. He received the Monarch Milestone Chevron Award for his more than 55 years of volunteering with the Lions Club. For 18 years, he sponsored a young girl in the Philippines through the Children’s Relief Fund. As a Naval Lieutenant during World War II, he was stationed on Mahr Island and the Presidio in San Francisco. He met Louisa May Guida in San Mateo, California and they were married for 62 years. He is survived by his devoted wife, Louisa and was the loving father of five children; John, Jr. (Ann), Patricia (Alan) Fillman, Julie, Larry (Eileen), Mari Jo and friend, Audrey Lang; six granddaughters, Margaret, Katherine, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Eimile and Brighid. He is also survived by siblings Margaret Braun, Joseph (Mary) Pesch and Mary Beth (Norman) Schaub, and was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Bernadine Scholl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday March 18th at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery on Friday. Visitation will be Thursday March 18th from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the church.
