Eleanor Neckuty Herriges, 83, of West Bend passed away on Friday April 30, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born on Dec. 22, 1926 in St. Michaels, the daughter of the late Anton and Katherine Berres Schaeffer. On Nov. 30, 1946 she married Peter Neckuty at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kewaskum. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1990. On April 19, 1997 she married Frank Herriges at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Eleanor worked at Regalware in Kewaskum for many years and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend, a former member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport and the 25 Year Club at Regalware. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles but most of all Eleanor was a great homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with her family being especially fond of her pies and cookies. Survivors include her husband Frank, her children Mary Ann (Marvin) Tuttle of Eden, David (Mary) Neckuty of Green Bay, Joanne (Robert) Backhaus of Kewaskum, Susanne (Peter) Kahut of Campbellsport, Diane (Mike) Soffa of Fond du Lac, Peter (Jane) Neckuty of Campbellsport and Ronald Neckuty of Milwaukee, her step-children Daniel (Marlene) Herriges of Custer, SD, David (Joan) Herriges of Sheboygan, Diana (Richard) Ciriacks of West Bend, Dale Herriges of Allenton and Dean (Denise) Herriges of West Bend, twelve grandchildren, sixteen step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren, her sisters Ann Bruendl of Las Vegas, NV and Rose Gross of Port Washington, her brother John (Florence) Schaeffer of Waukesha, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Edward and Lawrence and her sister Marie Albinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 7:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be Thursday in St. Matthew’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the church.
