Miles S. Rahn, 95, of Eden passed away Monday May 31, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac with his beloved family gathered around him. He was born in the Town of Auburn on Feb. 12, 1915 the son of the late William and Mary Tonn Rahn. Miles celebrated his 95th birthday with family and friends at Paddy’s Pizza in Eden. On Oct. 25, 1948, Miles married Cecilia S. Pranskunas in Chicago. Cele preceded Miles in death on June 6, 2008. Miles served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II from Mar. 28, 1944 to July 27, 1946. He was a Fond du Lac County Deputy Sheriff from Jan 1, 1948 to June 19, 1973. Miles also farmed while he served the county, developed and operated Manor Hill Trailer Park in Eden and worked at Rahn’s Tavern in Eden. Miles was active in the Eden Lions and the Wild Turkey Federation. He was a member of the Campbellsport VFW Post #9339. Survivors include his son Denis (Nancy) Rahn of Eden, his grandchildren Jennifer (Lee) Wilke of Eden and Christopher (special friend Megan Fichtner) Rahn of Eden, his great granddaughter Sophie, his brother Steve (Mary) Rahn of Kewaskum, his sister-in-law Ruth Pranskunas of Campbellsport, special friend Rodney Baumhardt, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his wife Cele, Miles was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives Field and Florence Rahn and Hilary and Beverly Rahn, his brother-in-law Raymond Pranskunas and his sister-in-law Wanda Mack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday June 3rd at 8:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church W1562 Hwy B Eden. Rev. Joseph Juknialis will officiate and family committal services will be Friday at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Thursday June 3rd from 4:00 PM until time of mass at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Hills School.
