Sister Vitalis Koester, SSSF, 105, passed away on Sat. June 19, 2010 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born on Feb. 15, 1905 in Earling, Iowa, the daughter of the late John and Mary Ebert Koester. She joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on Aug. 2, 1921and professed her vows on Aug. 2, 1923. Sister served her community as the Moderator Alvernia Alumnae. Sister Vitalis is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 89 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 25, 2010 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport.
