Dorothy M. Del Ponte, 94, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport. She was born in the Town of Auburn on January 11, 1916 the daughter of the late Benno and Lily Ferber Steinacker. Dorothy was a 1934 graduate of Campbellsport High School. In June of 1938, she married Dante Del Ponte at the Campbellsport United Church of Christ. Dorothy was a homemaker who excelled at cooking and baking and she enjoyed making Christmas candy, embroidery, card playing and in later years gambling. She was a member of the United Christian Church and the Campbellsport Senior Center. Survivors include her sons Dante Charles (Joanne) Del Ponte, George Del Ponte both of Campbellsport and Daniel Del Ponte of Hazelhurst, her grandchildren Jan (Philip) Richards, Dean (Erin) Del Ponte, Trisha (Jeff) Wills, Tiffany (Justin) Nelsen and Travis Del Ponte, her great grandchildren Quinn, Meghan and Sloane, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Victor Del Ponte, Melvin and Roseann Del Ponte, Anna Guse and Carol Steinacker, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Dante on March 21, 1983, her daughter Claudia, her sister Mae Warren and her brother Karl. Memorial services will be Thursday July 15th at the Twohig Funeral Home 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport at 4:00 PM. Rev. Paula Anderson will officiate and inurnment will be in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
