Brunhilde W. Sommer passed away peacefully at her home on Lake Winnebago on Sunday August 1, 2010. She was born on April 26, 1924 the daughter of Hildegaard and Bruno Sommer. Dr. Sommer taught for 42 years retiring from UW Whitewater as Professor of Education. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Karl and Richard. She is survived by her sister-in-law Marge Sommer, nieces Kathy, Susan and Heidi Sommer and nephews Jimmy and David. She is further survived by Elizabeth Blumberg and family. She has requested no formal services. Memorials may be made to the Brunhilde W. Sommer Scholarship Fund at the UW Whitewater Foundation. Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, is serving the family.
